Last Friday Daniel Roddick, Russell Painter, Ben Holder and I took to the stage with Derek Paravicini to raise money for the Amber Trust and the Hilton Charitable Foundation. The night was nothing if not varied, beginning with excerpts from Mozart's Die Zauberflöte before moving on to some wild gypsy jazz violin from the incredible Ben. I then changed hats (metaphorically speaking) to sing two wonderful jazz standards; Lullaby of Birdland and Black Coffee. It was so great to really interact with the other musicians, improvising and trading fours. Dan then sang a beautiful Welsh folk song, Calon Lân over which I sang a floating countermelody before we finished with a rousing chorus of Les Miserables. An evening spent with inspiring musicians in a stunning setting with some truly gracious hosts, not to be forgotten!
