Oh, What a Night! Thursday evening saw St Johns Smith Square packed to the rafters with a wonderful audience for a night of Mozart with the Orchestra of St Johns. The concert began with the beautiful Ave Verum Corpus sung with tenderness and poise by the OSJ Voices before Michael Collins took to the stage for a masterful performance of the clarinet concerto. While this was taking place, Sarah Jane Lewis, Christopher Turner, Frazer Scott and I were tucked away in the dressing rooms preparing for the second half, the mighty Requiem. It was an incredible experience with the full force of the orchestra and choir behind me, I was truly immersed in the music and feel very grateful to have been asked to sing with such wonderful musicians. The performance was recorded and I will post details of the CD release here when I know more…..
